全自动平衡光学互相关器TCBOC可以高精度的检测两个中心波长相同/不同的光脉冲序列之间的相对时延。由于采用了平衡的光学检测方案，TCBOC具有极高的定时灵敏度、阿秒定时分辨率、幅值不变性和对环境波动的鲁棒性。它产生与相对时延成比例的基带电压信号，然后可以在锁相环配置中使用该信号来同步具有不同波长的两个光源(例如将Ti:Sapph振荡器锁定到时间稳定光纤链路的输出)。
应用：
• 两个不同/相同波长光脉冲序列的重复频率的同步
• 将超快激光器的重复频率与稳定光纤链路的输出同步
